  • The full Find & acquire international titles dashboard allows you to keep tabs on trending titles in your focus genre to understand changing trends, to identify internationally trending titles in any genre or topic to purchase national publishing or audio rights, and to validate a title's trend through social media mentions, author following, and online search volume.

  • You can filter the data by up to three genre levels that correspond to leading genre structures in the industry, and the recommended reading age for children's books. You can further filter by language the title is published in, whether or not the author has already other German-language publications in the German market, whether or not the title is part of a book series, if it's been published as an eBook only, and months since release the e of the title. Moreover, you can filter by the average rating the title has received across multiple platforms, the success accumulated since publishing, and the social media reach in the last three months.

  • You can see for each title 1) the last month's change in success and 2) the full-time success. 1) describes how many new ratings, reviews, etc. a title has gained in the last month. This is a strong indicator of a potential trend in development. The higher, the more readers purchase, read, and speak about the title right now. 2) describes how much success a title has gained since its release. This is an indicator of the overall level of success a title has been able to achieve. The higher, the more readers haven purchased, read, and spoken about the title since it's release.

  • You can validate how trending a title is through the number of mentions of the author on social media, the search volume for the author in search engines and the social media followers of the author.

  • You can use our 10-word summaries to quickly grasp what a title is about, compare it to other titles you are interested in, and develop a gut feeling for any content-driven similarities between selected titles.

  • Genres hierarchy: We provide a three-level genre hierarchy that is adjusted to industry standards across providers and can be individualized in a Custom use case: 
    • Level 1, e.g., "Thrillers"
    • Level 2, e.g., "Thrillers - Supernatural"
    • Level 3, e.g., "Thrillers - Supernatural - Vampires"
  • Data types: Publisher, author, author gender, title, topic, various success metrics, ratings, reviews, price, product variants, popularity (custom use cases include many additional data types depending on individual request)
  • Sources: We collect data from dozens of sources including but not limited to major online shops, review communities, agent communities, individual publishers, distributors, agent and author pages, social media platforms, text aggregators, and industry associations. 
  • Updates: Data is generally updated once per month. Social Media data is updated continuously, aiming for weekly updates. 

    Data quality

    Our data runs through an extensive quality control process. We capture all potential issues in an automated and reliable way. Issues addressed are constantly being updated, since we continuously increase our data quality further, dive deeper into the data and explore more use cases.

    Common issues include misspellings (e.g., Stefen King), different ways of writing names (e.g., H. P. Lovecraft vs. HP Lovecraft), data gaps in our input sources (e.g., no price available), wrong data in our input sources (e.g., miss categorized: "The Gift" in "Gift books" instead of "Thriller"), and many more.
